Cell phones are allowed at Camp for use on time off, as an alarm clock, and if needed for medical management (diabetes for example). We expect staff to put phones away during all activity times in order to minimize distractions and focus on camp duties.

During the weekend time off blocks, staff may host visitors, however they cannot eat any camp food, go into any cabins or use any program areas. Visitors must sign waivers and be reserved by staff ahead of time. Camp on the weekends is for staff time to relax and decompress, so staff buildings are off limits and visitors should be kept to a minimum to respect all staff.

Each staff person gets two hours off Monday – Wednesday, and one hour on Thursday. Generally, staff are also on time off Friday 4 PM – Sunday 10 AM.

You are paid every two weeks via direct deposit. You’ll need a checking or savings account for the funds to be deposited in.

Staff must make their own arrangements, however we have a network of staff alumni who will work with us to provide transportation for staff who fly into local airports or need rides.

We have several washers and dryers on site for staff to use for free. We also provide detergent but feel free to bring your own detergent.

We ask staff to be in cabins and in bed by midnight. Working at Camp is a demanding job and we want to ensure our staff get enough sleep.

We have staff t-shirts for arrival and departure, and the rest of the week it’s casual and comfortable clothing that covers and can get messy – it is camp after all! Clothing should be mindful of the fact that you are working with children and are in a group setting. Temperatures are moderate – low 60s at night and 80s during the day. However, it is Wisconsin and we can sometimes experience three seasons a day!

Staff can leave Camp on time off. Stevens Point is 20 minutes away and has a variety of shopping options. There are several lakes, parks and natural areas nearby to explore. You can also hang out at Camp and destress by hanging in a hammock, do your laundry, get in a walk or run, using the staff workout room or just chilling in the staff lounge.

We serve meals buffet style and offer a variety of options. A full salad bar is available during lunch and supper, along with cereal, yogurt and granola at breakfast. We are nut free and offer sunbutter as an alternative. We are able to accommodate a variety of special diets.

We do have a smoking area for staff over 18 who smoke or vape. Vaping is not allowed anywhere else on camp property. Alcohol usage is for those staff 21 or older and can be consumed outside of Camp on time off. However, you are expected to be ready to work and staff who violate this policy may be terminated. Illegal drugs, including marijuana in Wisconsin, are not permitted. We do have a random drug testing policy during the summer season.
